Week of 12/18

We have enjoyed our last week before the winter break and look forward to more fun next time.

This week we worked on the letter “M”.

Jewish Studies: This week the boys and girls said Shalom (goodbye) to Hanukkah and talked about healthy ways to enjoy the winter break.

In gardening they talked about root vegetables and made sweet potato heads to put in water to grow slips for spring garden planting. The students also did an art project to demonstrate that root vegetables grow under the ground.

In science the children learned about the 4 forces of flight:

Library: We did not have a library resource this week, but we had a story time of own in class and read a couple “M” books.

In Art the students made sculpture with a myriad of items.  Wait until you see the finished products!

Mystery Reader: This week the boys and girls got to hear tw books by an Abba!  Don’t Push the Button! by Bill Cotter and Five Little Monkeys Wash the Car by Eileen Christelow.

Early/closed days: This week began the winter break with Friday noon dismissal.  The school and Kids Club is closed Dec 25th.  The school is closed Dec 26-Jan 5, and Kids Club is available by reservation.

So we say goodbye to 2017 and welcome in 2018. We look forward to nurturing and teaching your children in the new year!

Thank you to all for the cash gift via the PTA!  We appreciate it so much!  It reminds us to always be the spirit of giving and we hope you know that we give our hearts to these precious ones each and every day and we love to see their hearts grow in love as they learn!
